Baby D is a....

On Monday July 28, 2014, I was prepped and rolled back to the OR for my c-section at noon. It took the anesthesiologist 4 tries to get the spinal block in and within minutes I was numb-crazy feeling! They brought Manny back once I was all prepped and so it began...
It only takes about ten minutes from when the doctor starts the procedure to get the baby out but those last moments felt like forever. We couldn't wait to find out if this baby was a boy or a girl. Then my doctor said "ok are you ready?"....and at 12:28 pm he announced "It's a GIRL!" Our 8 pound 7 ounce Gabriella Reese was here!

Having a c-section is definitely an experience. I felt great for the first part and about the time Manny and Gabriella left for the recovery room and the doctor started to sew me back up-I started to not feel all that great and got REALLY tired. I'm thankful I remember at least holding my daughter for the first time because I was so tired and just wanted to sleep #momoftheyear
We spent "the golden hour" in the recovery room and then were moved to our room.  My parents and my in-laws were all there to see her!  Gabriella was passed around a little and then her blood sugar and body temperature started dropping so she was back to me for skin to skin the rest of the night.

Manny started a new job just a few weeks before Gabriella was born and had to return to work the day after she was born. Thankfully, my parents spent the days at the hospital with me until Manny came back from work.
We are so thankful for this sweet little girl! We are looking forward to life as a family of three and the plans God has for our little family!
