Workin' It Wednesday-New Year's Goals

Today I am linking up with Shay and Erika for Workin' it Wednesday, and we are discussing New Year's Goals. I always love a new year,  a fresh start, and setting new goals! This year I am keeping it simple...because I am ALL about simple! So for 2017....
This year I really want to work on my prayer life-it needs a lot of help. It's my goal to pray about things first instead of worrying about them and/or trying to fix them myself.  I love devotionals and am currently searching for one to help me with prayer :)

This year I want to work hard and get back to my pre-pregnancy weight from 3 years ago. That is going to take a lot of work, but I'm determined! I'm ready to eat healthier, eat in moderation, and work out daily! I just feel better when I do. I am also making it a goal (which will hopefully turn into a habit) to drink 80 ounces of water a day.

I have a lot of updates I would love to do to our place but to not overwhelm myself I am picking two. Update our bedroom-our room always gets put to the side so this year I'm concentrating on updating it! And the second update I want to do is buy new couch pillows. I can't believe I even have to make it a goal but it is also another thing that is always low priority until I am sitting on the couch looking around or trying to lay on a flat pillow. So if I make it a goal maybe I will actually do it! And I not only want to get pillows, I want to have extras to switch out during the different holiday seasons :)

Get outside
I want to get outside and do something with the kids every day this year (or almost every day). We live in Southern California where the sun shines almost every day so there is no reason we can't be out and about whether it be at a park, taking a walk, or just playing in the back yard! This "winter" I've been a little lazy (and just plain exhausted with a toddler and a baby who still won't sleep through the night) so we've mostly been inside...going stir crazy.

Looking forward to a fresh start in 2017!

  1. Yes to all of your goals!! Our bedroom is always the catch all and last priority (so I often don't get to it at all). I definitely want to be more intentional about this and create a more peaceful environment for my hubby and me. And I am so jealous about you being in Southern Cali! We're in South Dakota and it's COLD right now. I have a baby and two other littles as well, so I definitely feel ya on just surviving and being so tired. Thankful for the fresh start of a new year!

    1. I used to live in Montana so I've driven through South Dakota many times!!!

  2. Fellow Mama of a baby who won't sleep at night right here. It's rough! I read a book a few years ago that changed my perspective about prayer and Christian living in general- it's called Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero. I highly recommend it. Best of luck on your goals. :)

    1. Thank you so much for the book suggestion! I will check it out!!
