Books (Jan-July 2017)

One of my favorite things to do is read (hello, growing up I was the girl reading a book inside while my siblings were out exploring or playing outside), but 2 kids later, reading books kind of fell to the side. This past year I have gotten back into reading (yay!) and have read so many good books. I plan to do a little re-cap monthly of what I read, but I have a lot of catching up to do. So here are the books I read (and can remember that I read them. Ha!) the first half of the year...
I LOVE Mary Higgins Clark and was excited to see this in an airport in April (I had no idea she had written another book). This one is about a jewelry expert who is on a luxury cruiseliner when a 86 year old woman is killed and a priceless necklace goes missing. This book has some good twists and kept me guessing until the end. It wasn't my favorite Mary Higgins Clark book, but it was good!

This was one of my favorite books this year! In fact, I was only a few chapters in when I told my husband he needed to get it on tape (he doesn't have time to read so he listens to a lot on tape). It was so good! A journalist on a cruise think she overhears someone going overboard, but all the passengers seem to be accounted for. This one has lots of twists and is so so so good!

I really liked both of these books and reading about the lives of these Presidents. There is lots of information in each :)
Another book I loved! I actually know the author :) We used to go to church together and were in the same life group years ago. This book is about being open and honest with God and celebrating the details and circumstances in our lives even when things don't go as planned. I love Bekah's writing style and authenticity. I took so much away from this book!

Mary Higgins Clark did a series called "Under Suspicion"  with Alafair Burke. I wasn't sure how I would like reading books that she co-wrote, but these have turned out to be some of my favorite Mary Higgins Clark books! There are 4 books in the series and a 5th being released in November. These follow a TV producer who investigates cold case murders as part of a TV series. These are so good!

I thought this book started out a little slow-I wasn't sure where it was going, but when it got going, it was really good. There are lots of twists and I was totally surprised at the end. I definitely recommend this one.

I wasn't too sure about this one. It was disturbing, but I had to keep reading to find out what happened. I did really like the ending so that made it worth the read.

I just love Rachel Cruze and was excited to read this book! This is one of the first books I read this year so it has been awhile, but I did love it. I remember writing down quite a few things and being encouraged especially in the first few chapters.

This book is written by the head Secret Service detail for Mrs. Kennedy. It was interesting to read about what life was like for the First Lady and also the Secret Service. Jackie Kennedy seemed very sweet. This book has a lot of information so at times I found myself just skimming pages, but I liked it.

Whew! That's a lot. I read more books and can't for the life of me remember them, so I guess they weren't that exciting. I'll re-cap my books for August later this week to catch up!
