Show and Tell Tuesday: A Day in the Life

Today I am linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday, and we are sharing a day in our life. I always love reading these posts from others and love looking back on our own day in the life because how quickly I forget what life was like even 6 months ago! So I picked this past Thursday to document.
My alarm went off and I was up at 5 am to start my workout and get as much in before my early risers wake up.

At the beginning of the year, I got a membership for Beachbody On Demand, and it's the best thing ever! I have access to all their workouts so every morning I do something different. I'm currently doing the 21 day Fix Extreme with some Shaun T mixed in there for cardio.

My early riser. Mads wakes up anytime between 5-6 am (working on stretching that farther...ah!). If I'm still working out, he talks and sings in his crib. This morning he was up about 5:45 am.

First things first, Madden always asks for a "nak" so he's eating a granola bar, and I'm having a protein shake with strawberries.

Little miss is up around 6:30-7 am. It takes her awhile to wake up :)

Manny left  for work and then we played. We normally have bible study on Thursday mornings, but we took a much needed break this week and laid low at home. The kids LOVED being home and playing with their current favorites- Little People. Gabriella played with them all the time from 18 months-2 1/2 and then stopped so I packed them away in the garage and just brought them out again. It's like new toys :)

We headed outside to play in the backyard for awhile. Madden's favorite thing to do is push stuff around so he "mowed". Gabriella likes to do whatever I'm doing so she sat in the chair for a bit while I read and then ventured off.

Her stuffed animals are her babies and she takes very good care of them!

We came inside, the kids took baths, and then played awhile before lunch. Such an exciting morning I am telling you. Ha!
One of the highlights of our day is lunch time when Manny comes home! So thankful that our house is in between his 2 offices so everyday he can come home. It really breaks up the day, and the kids (especially Madden) love it!

This might be my favorite part of the day! Just kidding...but it is up there! I use nap time to work on my Bible Studies (I am currently doing 2), to blog, journal, and just do "me" stuff. I started the gray journal (on the bottom) on the first day we sat down with our fertility doctor and then journaled throughout my pregnancies etc in it so I am in the process of re-writing some of the entries into their journals. Gabriella's is done and updated so now I just write little things that she does or says here and there, but I finally ordered Madden's and am trying to write a little each day to get caught up. These few hours in the afternoon where I can sit in the quiet, drink my iced tea, and do "me" stuff is a huge refresher for me!

Madden woke up from his nap first (always!) and first thing is always first with him....a snack! Gabriella woke up, and we played the rest of the afternoon.

After Manny got home, we headed out to dinner at our favorite place!

We love BBQ and our favorite place is Lucille's Smokehouse!

After dinner, we headed home, the kids took baths and went to bed while we watched one of our shows. That's a typical Thursday in our life right now :)

  1. Sounds like it was a good day! What a great idea to keep journals for your kids!

  2. Wow, they really are early risers aren't they! I hope they take good naps for you! :)

    1. Ugh yes they are 😳...sometimes too early. We need to work on that! :)
