Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!! Can you believe we are less than a week away from Thanksgiving?! I am hosting so I have to get myself in gear and get some things done this weekend. Besides that, we are planning to go to Disneyland and check out all the Christmas decorations and eat all the holiday food :) As always, I am linking up with ErikaNarci, and Andrea to share my favorites this week...

Need a yummy treat for the holidays?! Try these Red Velvet Truffles that I posted earlier this week. They are easy and can be made ahead of time and frozen. Eating and making sweets is always a favorite of mine, especially this time of year. Happy Baking!

We received our family pictures back from our photographer this week! We were the perfect storm this year with a newly walking toddler who didn't want to hold still and another toddler who has never made having her picture taken easy :) I had prepped and bribed Gabriella and thought we were good to go, but as soon as we lined up for our first pose off she marched yelling "no cheese!" Thankfully, we have the sweetest and most patient photographer, and she did a great job capturing US right now. We didn't have any pictures where everyone is smiling and/or looking but that's ok because this is real life :)

Chocolate chip cookies are a favorite of mine, and I would never think to get a good one at a fast food restaurant....BUT have you ever had one from Chick-fil-A?!!!! They are the BEST! Do yourself a favor and get one the next time you are at Chick-fil-A!!! :)

...told you they didn't look and/or smile :) So this week 4 years ago was the week we did our first round of IVF, and I have been thinking a lot about it and how far we have come since then. I still remember the painful months and years of waiting and trusting in God's plan. Even though it wasn't my plans or timing, it was God's perfect timing...and now here are two of my favorite people! I wrote a blog about our infertility journey here. If you are reading this and struggling with infertility (or know someone who is), I would love if you would email me at chasingsweetandsimple@gmail.com so I can pray for you.

DW Home are my favorite candles, and I hit the jackpot at HomeGoods this week! Nourishing Shea is one of my favorite smells because it is subtle and clean. And the other two have very warm smells and are perfect for Christmas :)

Well that's it for this Friday. Hope you have a great weekend!!!!!

  3. Here in Louisiana, we refer to your truffles as RV Cakeballs and they are a holiday favorite, too! Just like you recommended, I like to make them ahead of time and then freeze them. Hope you have a great TG week!

    1. Oh awesome! I have to be careful how far in advance I make them because I have a problem with grabbing a few out of the freezer here and there and popping them in my mouth, and before I know it, they are all gone. Ooops :) Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
