Friday Favorites: 2017 Favorites

Happy Friday! Today, I am linking up with ErikaNarci, and Andrea to share my favorites and this week I'm sharing some of my favorite things from 2017....in no particular order :)

This year I discoved DW Home candles, and they quickly became my favorite candles! I find them at HomeGoods or TJ Maxx but also found them here.  They have the perfect amount of smell...not too strong but you can definitely smell them. I have loved every flavor I've had but some of my favorites are Nourishing Shea (a very light and clean smell), Milk and Cookies, Vanilla Bean, Pumpkin, and Peppermint Snow.

Last January, I discovered Beachbody On Demand, and it has been one of the best things ever! They offer different membership options (monthly, 3-month, 6-month, yearly) for great prices, and I got a yearly membership for $99 giving me access to all of their workout programs, nutrition programs etc!  If you like home workouts, I highly suggest checking this out! My favorite trainer is Autumn Calabrese, and I love her 21 Day Fix Extreme program. She is coming out with a new program- 80 Day Obsession- starting January 15th, and I can't wait. Beachbody On Demand workouts have challenged me, stretched me, and kicked my butt this year, but I've loved every minute of them.

Manny and I visited Washington D.C. (kid free!) in April for a wedding, and it didn't take us long to decide that D.C. is our favorite city! We had such a great time exploring the city, touring the White House East Wing, and touring the Capitol building. This is a place we plan to visit over and over because there is so much to do and see. I re-capped our trip here and here.

The Breakdown was my favorite book in 2017! I love a good mystery, and this one did not disappoint. There were twists and turns, and I really didn't see the ending coming. If you like a good mystery definitely check this one out!

This was probably my favorite beauty product in 2017 because it worked wonders! Since I live in sunshine almost year round I need good coverage, and this has worked the best. I double it as a primer and apply it after my moisturizer but before I put on my foundation. I can't remember a single time where my face got sun burned, and I was in the sun alot at places like the beach, Disneyland, or the pool.

We visited Disneyland for the first time as a family, and it quickly became our favorite place! We went a few times early in 2017 thanks to a deal they offered for southern CA residents, and then we decided to buy annual passes in August. I think we got our moneys worth in the first month of having them and have had a blast going one or two times a month.

Iced tea is my favorite drink and after making it for years with other tea bags, I discovered TAZO (which I believe Starbucks used to use??!. yes?) and it's the best! If you are an iced tea drinker, try using TAZO tea bags sometime.

I was reading my journal from this time last year, and I had written about maybe taking my little blog documenting my family, our travels etc, and making it something more. I thought about it for a long time apparently because this past Fall I decided to do just that! I re-named my blog, am adding other content, and having a blast trying to navigate and figure this all out. It has been both fun and challenging for this stay at home mom, and I love it because it is something for ME!

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend. We have NOTHING on our schedule, and I can't wait!!!

  1. My husband and I have been toying with a trip to DC (we are only six hours south so it isn't a major undertaking...) but we don't want to take the kids yet. If not this year then maybe next year! I love Super City Block and have used it for years! I'm so glad I found your blog on the link up. Have a great weekend :)

    1. Oh so fun!! I wrote a post and listed some of our favorites and some restaurants that I will link below! The Museum of Natural History would be a really good one and interesting for your kids! Also, check out the Smithsonian ones too. We didn’t even get a chance to hit those but they look pretty cool. Someone told me you can write to your local Congressman and request tickets for White House or Capitol tours and I would highly suggest doing those if you can. The day we toured the White House there were little kids so any age kids are fine.
