Life Lately (I'm back!!!!)

Hello hello! I AM BACK!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it has been October since I last blogged. Life just got busy and this was (obviously) one of the things I let go, but I am back now and excited to start blogging again. I'm hoping to post at least twice a week. I do love to document our little life to look back on.

We had a lonnnngggg and cold winter, a late spring, and summer has finally arrived in Chicago. We are loving the warm days, being outside, and swimming at the pool. Here is a little look at life lately...

This girl finished her first year of preschool! She did great and met most of the goals her teacher, occupational therapist, and speech therapist had set for her! She has come a long way (especially her speech) this year and we can't wait to see what one more year of Pre-K will do for her!

Her height shot up quite a bit this year and I found myself scrambling to buy her all new clothes because nothing fit by the time spring came.

Speaking of spring....once it finally came and stopped raining, we were able to spend time in the city. We try to get down to the city anytime we can!

On a whim one day, we headed downtown and spent the afternoon in Lincoln Park. We love love love the zoo and Lincoln Park is such a cute part of the city. Plus we love the view!

On Mother's Day, we headed into the city to meet friends for brunch. It was cold (hello winter jackets and boots) and this was the best picture we got because my kids think it is hilarious to tackle each other all.the.time :)

On May 22nd, this guy and I celebrate our 10 year anniversary! There is no one else I would rather do life with. We celebrated with dinner out the next weekend and had every intention of a weekend in the city together but our May/June/July weekends filled up so maybe August?!

At the beginning of June, Gabriella had her dance recital. This year she took a tap and ballet combo class. Around February/March, she decided that she didn't really like dance anymore but she finished it out, loved every minute of being on stage, and is hanging up her dance shoes to try out a few other new things this summer and fall. Her favorite part of her dance recital weekend-getting to wear makeup!

And last....I started working again in February! My friend told me about a job that she does from home and after reading about it somewhere else I decided to give it a try...
I teach English to kids in China! They are so so so CUTE and so excited to learn English! I have so much fun doing this! Because of the 13 hour time difference, the hours work really well for me and I teach in the early morning and then some evenings. I love that I can set my own schedule and work as much or as little as I want. I wanted to share because I know now a days many of us are trying to add a little extra to our income and this is a great way to do it. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at chasingsweetandsimple@gmail.com and I can help you. This job has been such a blessing for my family and I would love to help anyone else looking for something like this get started. You can also find out more information here.  Now there are 2 requirements- A bachelors degree (in anything) and experience working with kids (this can be anything too!).

Ok that's all for now! It's so good to be back!!!!
