Friday Favorites {7.27.19}

Happy Friday, friends! It has been a long and busy week so I am thankful we made it to Friday.  Today, I am linking up with Erika and Andrea and sharing my favorites.

Earlier this week, I re-capped our vacation in my favorite city- Washington D.C.- here and here

I have been looking forward to this weekend all month long because we are celebrating my favorite little girl. My Gabriella Reese turns 5 on Sunday. How can that be? I recently pulled out her baby book and still remember receiving it in the mail a few days after she was born. When I flipped through it, and noticed it had a place to write about her 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th birthday, I remember thinking how far away her 5th birthday would be and then I blinked and here it is.

Gabriella is sweet, a little shy, very sensitive, and a happy girl! She loves unicorns and rainbows so guess what her birthday is all about this year? #rainbowsandunicorns

This year Gabriella completed her first year of preschool and LOVED it! Her speech has improved a ton and she has also received occupational therapy this year too. We made the decision long ago (and it has been reinforced over and over) that we would hold her out of kindergarten until she is 6 since she is a late summer birthday. So she will be back for one more year of Pre-K and she can't wait!

She did dance again this year and decided in the spring that she really didn't like it anymore. So she has hung up her dance shoes and has a new found love for gymnastics! She will also be starting soccer in a another month or so.

She loves all things stuffed animal and plays for hours and hours with her (millions of) stuffed animals. She toted this around Washington D.C. and pulled it out whenever we stopped to play.

This girl LOVES vacation. She had the best time on our Baltimore/D.C vacation and recently told me that D.C is her favorite city.

She learned to ride her bike this year and she loves to be outside playing. Her favorite summer activity is swimming. She has always been our water baby.

Gabriella loves superheroes, movies, playing with her friends and cousins, going to the park, visiting the zoo, arts and crafts, clothes, shopping, accessories, and writing notes.

This girl is always up for an adventure and asks bright and early every morning for a run down of our day ahead. "what's next mom?" "what's next mom?"

 Her eating has gotten much better this year (and I roll my eyes at all the energy I wasted worrying about her toddler picky eating) and she will try just about anything. Fruit, peppers, yogurt, ice cream, cupcakes, popsicles, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, and trail mix are some of her favorites!

Here is a fun little list of Gabriella's current favorites!

Have a great weekend, friends!

  1. Aw, what a great focus for your Friday favorites! (My boys are 11-15 and it does just fly right by!). We too kept our youngest out of Kinder until he was 6 and it was the best decision we ever made. He's a sept. birthday so we had the choice and I love that it has helped him stay just a bit younger a bit longer (all through the years).
